Full Your Cup

Friendship with oneself is all important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Unashamedly, I adore Quotable refrigerator magnets. Inspirational quotes feed me. Quote memes are the best thing that happened to the internet. Not only do I love to eat up these wise little words myself, I enjoy creating tiny moments of hope in others by sharing and communicating through them. They are an invaluable communication currency rich with depth, complexity, and hidden meanings. They are my searchlight for human connection and my stepping stones to self-love.

"You have to fill your cup. You then give away the overflowing, but you keep a cupful for yourself." ~Wynonna Judd

Ah...self love.

I am a firm believer in self love. It is necessary to create clarity in ones own soul before meddling in the matters of others on any level. This means your kids, your family, your friends, your job, and your community.

We must also learn to love ourselves enough to LET GO. Clear your mind. Clear your entire life if you have to. Give yourself a clean slate no matter where, what, and who you are. Silence the noise. Empty the room. Cleanse your soul.

How we   THINK matters a great deal more than anything else in our lives. Our thoughts control us. Breathe and immediately let go of negative thoughts every single time they appear. Do this without exception. Know  everything is temporary  and therefore the only path to happiness is letting go. Replace negativity with this inner wisdom. See tragedy, pain and suffering as an opportunity for healing, growth and wisdom, then LET IT GO . Nothing, absolutely nothing good has ever come from exercising or holding on to fear, resentment, loss, anger, and suffering. STOP .

Recognize that healing begins when we see beauty in pain and strength in hardship. HAPPINESS LIVES IN THE GREY. Live life fearlessly and let go of the belief that the world is black and white. That is an illusion. Without pain, we would be numb to joy. Without darkness, we cannot see light. Without death, we cannot savor the gift that is life. LOVE THE GREY . Stop living in negativity. Be your own light.

Recogize that a wellspring of happiness is derived from within...from being open to wisdom , learning to love yourself, and by practicing genuine kindness towards yourself and others.

Always start with yourself. Begin by letting go of unrealistic personal challenges and self-hate. Again, mindset is everything. Break down your goals into manageable tasks. Break down those tasks into actions. Execute and watch your smile form. Be your own best friend. Make time for regular visits with your own soul. Check in on your progress. Be deeply dedicated and connected to your own internal beauty. Do this above all else. For it is from this that all happiness flows.

"The world is full of gifts. Receive them relentlessly." -Me

Learn always. Read. Write. Think. Sort through your conclusions, your identity, your goals, your interpersonal connections, your things, your emotions, your thoughts, your actions, everything that comprises your ENTIRE life constantly. Remove what is not filling your cup. Let them go. Tear them up and start over. Always.

Let go of the ridiculous assumption that you have everything figured out. Or that you are stuck or that you can't change or that you'll never get what you want. In fact, lose the belief that you know anything at all. Let go of who you were yesterday. Let go of everything horrible that ever was. Of everything that gives you pain. Forgive yourself and forgetLet go. Learn. Grow. Today is not only a new day, it is the only thing you possess at all. How dare you waste this gift? Take control of it. Now.

Life is simple. Stop ruining it with self doubt, self hate, lack of motivation, lack of confidence, lack of LIVING. Life is nothing more than a series of choices. Make them count. Not interested? Please hand over your wasted days to someone capable of using them to live rather than to sit idle watching life happen. Stop repeating the same negative thoughts. The same destructive behaviors. Stop doing nothing at all. That is dying. Stop killing yourself by dying. Stop.

Wake up. Take action. Give a damn. Do something, rather than nothing at all. Nothing changes if nothing changes. Observe. Look. Listen. Feel. Hear. Stop negative thoughts. Right now. Break negative cycles. Savor joy wherever and whenever you find it. See beauty in pain. Strength comes from weakness, happiness from sorrow, fulfillment, connection and abundance from letting go.

Have a beautiful day.
